Aztec Secret – Indian Healing Clay Mask

If you love face masks like I do, whether they be sheet masks, peel-off masks, clay masks, or any of the other dozens of mask options out there, this may be one you would like to add to your collection.

It is tingly, pulsating and deep cleaning. It removes impurities and debris from the skin and pores. You will notice some pinkness/redness after using, but it fades pretty fast. This is definitely a mask I would opt to use in the evenings because it is fairly intense and really does a great job pulling out all the dirt from your pores.

To use as a mask, the clay can either be mixed with apple cider vinegar or water, in equal parts.

According to the Aztec Secret website this miraculous clay works in the following way: The molecules of the clay carry a negative electron charge, and toxins that are stored in your skin (or epidermis) are positively charged. Because of this polarity, the toxins and dirt are pulled from the skin when the clay is applied. Now this may sound like rocket science or a scenario you may see on a chemistry exam, however the facts are the facts, and this stuff does what it claims.

The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay also has a variety of applications. It can be used for clay baths, acne, insect bites, foot soaks, bodywraps, as well as facials.

I have only used it as a mask so far, but based on that, I am very curious to try out the other applications as well.

The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay is available on the Aztec Secret website, Amazon, and the Vitamin Shoppe for approximately $8-9.

What you get is a one pound jar of clay, which roughly translates to approximately 25-30 masks that are 100% natural, fragrance free, and free of any animal testing.

Try it for yourselves and let me know what you think!

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub

Voted one of Allure’s Readers’ Choice winners in 2016, the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrubs are definitely worth trying out; especially if you are looking to get your skin summer ready.

The shea sugar scrubs come in several different scent combinations, including: Coconut Lime, Marula & Jasmine, Moroccan Rose, Brazilian Nut, Tropical Mango, Pomegranate Acai, Hawaiian Kukui, Passion Fruit & Guava, Lychee & Plum, and Original Shea.

I have tried the three pictured above, and would absolutely repurchase them. It is a very gentle scrub that exfoliated very well and leaves your skin feeling very soft and moisturized.

The application is simple and self-explanatory. You just scoop out the desired amount of product into your hand and apply in a circular motion to the area of the body you want to exfoliate. The sugar disintegrates as you scrub, and moisturizes your skin. Once you’ve scrubbed enough, rinse with water. I usually use this product while I am in the shower, after I have washed with soap.

So where can you pick up these scrubs to try out for yourself, you ask. Ulta has a large selection (actually I think they carry every single version), and they often have a two for one, or buy one get the second 1/2 off deal. But for the regular price of $7.99 (18 oz.) you are still getting a great product for an inexpensive price tag. I have also seen them for sale on Amazon and at some Bed, Bath and Beyond stores.

Thred Up

With National Recycling Week coming to a close, I wanted to share a secondhand clothing app that you can send your retired apparel into as well as purchase from… like an online Goodwill, but so much better because you can get cash for your donated clothing.

So Thred Up is an online fashion resale app that sells secondhand apparel for women and children. You can purchase gently used and brand new (with tags attached) items for up to 90% off of what they originally sold for in stores.

They also buy secondhand clothing items as well, which is perfect for when you need to clean out your closet. You order a “clean out” kit, fill it up, and send it in. I’ve sent in three bags as of this post and have received somewhere in the ballpark of $30. Not much, true… but it was for items that I wasn’t ever going to wear again, so looking at it in that perspective, it’s a pretty good deal. A cleaner closet and an extra $30 bucks.

So get those closets cleaned out and replace some unwanted clothes with something new.

Wish

By now, most people have heard of Wish. For those of you who have not, Wish is an online shopping app, that has TONS of beauty related products, and several other things too. But for the purpose of this post, I wanted to focus on the beauty product element of Wish.

First let me start by saying, I was extremely skeptical when I originally downloaded the app. They have beauty products listed on there, from brushes to lashes, and everything in between. The prices are CRAZY low, so… of course I figured there had to be some kind of catch, right?!

Inevitably, I threw caution to the wind and placed an order for the items you see pictured above.

Let’s start with the lashes. Super long, great quality, and best of all, I got five pairs for $1. For those of you that try a lot of different lashes, like I do; these were about the same quality of Red Cherry or Eyelure. They fit the length of my eyelid and were flexible and easy to apply.

The beauty puffs… These were also $1 for a pack of four. If you are expecting to get a Beauty Blender for that bargain price of a quarter, you are mistaken here. These are decent for applying powder in a baking situation, but not much else.

The pore strip masks… I love these. It is a peel off mask that smells fantastic. It cleans out your pores great and leaves your face feeling clean and unclogged afterwards. These come in a pack of ten for, you guessed it…A DOLLAR!

The brush set… I have yet to splurge for the real deal on these luxury brushes, but the set from Wish is okay. Not great, and not horrible…Just okay. These were the most pricey product I purchased off the Wish app, at a whopping $10 for ten brushes varying in size.

Overall Wish is a good place to start for items you want to try.. Especially if you are on a tight budget, but must satisfy your need for beauty products. Many items start for $1… Yes A DOLLAR!

What have been your favorite products you’ve purchased off the Wish app. (or maybe products we should avoid in the future)?
