Glittery. Versatile. Amazing. These iredescent lip toppers instantly double your lip color collection as these little beauties can be worn alone or on top of your favorite lip product. It is a perfect addition when wanting to add a little drama to your usual look.

The Diamond Crushers formula is non-sticky and glides easily over the lips. The glitter stays where it’s supposed to and doesn’t get all over your face.

The Lime Crime website describes them as, a weightless water-based formula that goes on matte and dries to a smudge-proof finish. Can be worn alone or over liquid matte lipstick without making it run, and the lightweight water-based formula is filled with light-reflective iridescent shimmers that dance and glisten with you as you move.

Rimmel Provocalips – 16 Hour Lip Colour

Those of you who also follow me on Instagram @AllThingsAdoredOfficial know that I have been using the Rimmel London Provocalips quite religiously as of late.

These are definitely one of my current favorites.

The application is smooth, the colors are fantastic, and as advertised it lasts foreverrrrr!

Provocalips comes in 14 gorgeous shades and is available at Target, Walmart, and Ulta.

The Ulta website describes the product as follows:

Rimmel’s Provocalips 16 Hour Kiss Proof Lip Colour is an exclusive 2 step product that locks in vibrant color for 16 hours. It’s so incredibly lightweight and flexible that it adapts to the movement of your lips. These seductively rich shades bring out that femme fatale in you! Wow color, incredible shine and zero trace!

I can totally agree with the lightweight and flexiblity claims, and the color lasts and lasts through eating, drinking, kissing, etc. Nachos, it even lasted through eating nachos!!

At no point while wearing this product did my lips feel dried out (like some long lasting lip colors can do), or get clumpy. The color remained smooth and my lips remained moisturized.

The cost is approximately $6-7 depending on where you shop, and is a super great price for the quality of product you are getting.

    Fyrinnae Cosmetics

One of the few completely independent cosmetic companies out there, and operating out of the Pacific Northwest, Fyrinnae Cosmetics has found a new and loyal customer in me.

I recently came across the mention of Fyrinnae in a Pinterest post about cosmetic companies that you may have never heard of, but should check out… So I did!

Fyrinnae is a cruelty-free and vegan cosmetic company that produces and packages their own cosmetic line that includes eyeshadows, lip colors, blushes, highlighters, finishing powders, and primers.

I purchased two of their lip lustres in shades Pygmy Hippo and Ominous. They cost $7. They are absolutely one of the softest lip products I have ever used, almost a velvety texture.

Their website  describes the product as: Fyrinnae’s Lip Lustres are not like lipgloss. This unique product is a non-sticky lipcolour, nearly as solid as lipstick, leaving rich colour on your lips but no goopy tackiness. They are a rather “dry” product because we pack as much colour into them as possible, but the ingredients are not drying. This means, due to the high concentration of natural butters, they are thinner in a warm environment, thicker when it’s cool, but are a solid product. Lustres have a slight vanilla scent.

I also purchased a couple of the Fyrinnae eyeshadows in shades Aphrodite’s Evening Gown (which is one from their Arcane Magic line), and Dressed to Kill that range in price from $6-$7. The color payoff with both of these was great and long lasting. The product was very easy to work with and buildable.

Their website describes their eyeshadows as: Our loose shadows are not dry powder, but contain synthetic oil and other ingredients which cause them to appear clumpy or sometimes form tiny balls of shadow (easily used as-is or crushed). They are supposed to look and feel this way. The inclusion of these ingredients often lends to richer color and longer wear, and helps reduce fallout during application. Fyrinnae’s Arcane Magic Eyeshadows are specialized colours with a highlight which changes hue depending on how the light hits it.

For the very inexpensive price, you get a very high quality product (which is nice). As an added bonus they also sent me a sample size of an additional eyeshadow when they shipped out my order…super cool!

The product packaging is simple and not really anything special to look at, but it’s what’s inside the packaging that you are assured to be impressed with.

    Thanks for reading! πŸ™‚

    DIY Lip Scrub

With the weird weather we’ve been having lately in Southern California, I decided to take advantage of one of the rainy days and make myself some lip scrub.

You can find a ton of DIY recipes on Pinterest for these, varying in tastes, aromas, textures, etc.

I opted to concoct my own recipe because I didn’t want to have a bunch of leftovers. So this recipe (below) will probably make you enough lip scrub for approximately 4-5 applications.

First let me mention that this lip scrub is completely edible, smells amazing – kind of somewhere between an Orange Dreamcicle and an Orange Julius, and it leaves your lips feeling soft and exfoliated afterwards.

    The Ingredients:

    • 2 teaspoons of organic cane sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon of grapeseed oil
    • 3-4 drops of vanilla extract
    • 3-4 drops of orange extract

    The Process:

    • Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.

Once you’ve got your ingredients all blended together, simply apply a small to liberal amount to your lips and rub in a circular motion for about 1-2 minutes. Afterwards either rinse off excess or lick the rest of it off your lips πŸ™‚

Substitutions can be used for the sugar, depending on how course or fine you prefer the grain to be. Some other options include brown sugar, or sugar in the raw. The cane sugar I used falls in the middle in terms of grain size.

    Happy scrubbing!! πŸ™‚

If anyone tries it out, please share your experience in the comments below. Or if you have a lip scrub recipe you’d like to share please do so below as well. Thanks!

    Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

Most days you’ll find my makeup fully done, but there are always those days (call it lazy, call it my alarm could not wake me up, etc.), whatever the case my be; there are days when mascara and lip balm is about all I walk out the door with. On those days Burt’s Bees Lip Balm is the sweet little treasure of my existence.

My experience using Burt’s Bees products have nothing short of glorious and I would highly recommend them to anyone, and have! Which is how this post idea even came about.

Back track to a few days ago when I was having a conversation with one of my friends after seeing her pull out a tube of Chapstick.

When I asked her why she was using Chapstick, her reply was because her lips were dry. I then asked her if she had ever read the ingredients on her Chapstick tube. It was here I found out that she hadn’t read the label, and did not know that Chapstick contains alcohol (which drys out your skin thereby requiring her to use even more Chapstick).

I thought this was common knowledge, she then said she had no idea and that I should write a blog entry on the topic.

I quickly ran over to Target and picked her up a Burt’s Bees Lip Balm to replace her Chapstick because friends don’t let friends have dry, cracked lips! πŸ™‚

    NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

I recently added a few shades of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream to my ever-growing makeup collection and am happy to say that they will remain there.

I had already been using several of the Butter Glosses by NYX, and loved them. They are super versatile. They can be worn by themselves, with lipliner, or as a gloss over your lipstick to add some sheen and moisture. The application is smooth and the color ranges from semi-sheer to medium coverage. There is absolutely no sticky feeling with these, which is hit or miss with many lip glosses.

The Soft Matte Lip Cream’s are of equal caliber! The main differences between the two of these is that the matte lip cream has a greater color payoff and obviously they set to a matte finish, rather than a glossy one. The application is soft and the durability is strong. These no undoubtedly would be a welcomed addition to any lip connoisseurs collection.
