Ardell Magnetic Lashes

I’ve been an Ardell lash user since my dance competition days in middle school. Since then I think I’ve used every shape and style of their lashes that I could get my hands on. They make a quality product that I return to the store to purchase time and time again.

So of course I was SUPER excited when I heard that Ardell was coming out with new magnetic strip lashes. The glamour without the glue? I’m in! 🙂

I pretty much stalked my local Sally’s Beauty Supply and Ulta for a couple weeks. Finally I got my hand on a few pairs.

Upon opening the package, one of the first things I noticed was how lightweight they were, which is a great thing because you’ve now got double the lashes.

Okay so I didn’t quite get how to put them on initially. The video clips make it look super easy. I can tell you it does take some practice, but once you’ve got it down, I think you will like these as much as I do. One piece of advise I can give is to check out Ardell’s IG @ardellbeauty. There you can see videos with some troubleshooting tips such as cutting the lashes into smaller magnetic pieces to make application easier.

So now that you are motivated to give these a try, here’s the where and the how much.

Available at the following stores:

  • Ulta
  • Sally’s Beauty
  • Target
  • CVS
  • Rite-Aid

Here you can see a before and after. The top is without the magnetic lashes, and bottom is with the magnetic double wispies.

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product

One of my favorite hair products that I have repeatedly bought time and time again because of how great it makes my hair feel, is It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product. I use this as a repairing product as well as a detangler after every hair washing session. The smell is wonderful and a little product goes a long way.

The product description states that it is formulated to deliver 10 benefits, including:

  • Repairing dry and damaged hair
  • Adds shine
  • Detangles
  • Controls frizziness
  • Seals and protects hair color
  • Prevents split ends
  • Stops hair breakage
  • Silkiness
  • Enhances natural body
  • Flat iron spray and thermal protection

I can attest that this product does indeed deliver on the myriad of benefits mentioned above and can be considered nothing short of a miracle product.

There are five options available for the leave-in product, which are geared toward various hair types or needs, they include:

  • The Original
  • Plus Keratin
  • For Blondes
  • Lite
  • Silk Express

Of the five different varieties of the product, I have tried three. The original in the blue bottle (pictured above) is by far my favorite. In my opinion it not only smells the best of the options I have tried, but it seems to work best for my hair.

Pricing for the 4 ounce bottle runs about $11 – $18 depending on where you purchase it from. It’s a bit pricey considering the size, but this stuff is worth it and as I mentioned previously, you don’t need to use much. Ulta and Target usually have all the varieties available, if you are feeling adventurous 😉

Give it a try!

Holy Trinity of Hair Care

So anyone who has massively color treated hair knows the importance of maintaining a good hair regimen. I am naturally a dark brunette but as of lately I have become a very light blonde (a la Gwen Stefani or Marilyn Monroe type blonde). So keeping my hair strong, moisturized, and healthy is SUPER important. These are the products I use to keep my hair looking smooth and silky. All products are available at Target, for approximately $4-$7 each.

First the Renpure. It comes in three different fragrances, and all of them are lovely smelling. The “Sweet Pomegranate” is pictured above, but it also comes in a “Rosemary Mint,” and “Lavender.” Renpure’s cleansing conditioner is a product I tried purely out of curiosity, and because I had been reading so many great things about using cleansing conditioners in place of shampoo. Many shampoos contain sulfates which can dry out your hair, this product does not. Also, because of the nature of shampooing (the lathering process), hair can also become dried out. The difference with cleansing conditioners is that it does not lather. This does take a little while to get used to (or at least it did for me). Once you have coated the hair in the cleansing conditioner, let it sit or a few minutes, and then rinse.

Next the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. This comes in a few different options as well, they include, “Strong,” “Moist,” and “Color.” I prefer the “Strong” (photographed above) because I just like the smell a bit better than the other types.

I use this as a conditioner every time I wash my hair. After leaving it in for three minutes you will definitely notice that your hair is much softer, and why the name of the product includes the word “miracle.”

Last, but not least, the coconut oil. I’m sure by now you have heard about all the great uses and benefits of coconut oil, and for hair care it is no less. I use it as a deep conditioning mask once a week (if I’m being really good), or every other week. Basically I just scoop it out into my hands, rub it together to get it to melt a bit, and then rub it into my hair starting at the ends. After I coat my entire head, I wrap my hair into a loose bun on the top of my head and clip it down to secure it. I then cover it with a shower cap and go to sleep. In the morning I wash with the Renpure cleansing conditioner and follow up with the Aussie 3 minute miracle.

*On a side note, I typically will wash/condition my hair no more than three times a week using the above process.

Happy Hair-doing! 🙂 xo
